Providence

Overview

The Providence is an epithermal deposit of silver, lead, copper and zinc hosted in conglomerate sediments of Miocene, which overlap the tectonic contact with red sediments of the Pastos Grandes group (Sijes Formation) of the Upper Tertiary. The latter are based on the unconformity of the Ordovician pelites and wackes of the Acoite Formation.

It is a deposit of metals dispersed in sediments, where there is a higher concentration of them in the fractures that affect the conglomerate. These fractures were possibly the means of transport of the mineralizing fluids from a source whose location and geometric arrangement is still uncertain.

The project commenced construction in late 2021 and officially went into production in October 2022. The project is currently open pit mined by direct excavation and produces a silver-lead concentrate through a flotation plant.

The project has upgraded resources through new infill drilling and is planning the next phase of the expansion program.
